SEO Technical Audit

Do you ever feel that your company is invisible?

You’ve invested a good deal of time and a great deal of money in making your website stand out from the crowd, only to find that your Google ranking is 16,000,000 and the crowd is looking somewhere else.
The answer to the above lies in search engine optimisation (SEO).

What is a SEO Technical Audit?

The actual SEO Audit is two things combined:
1.    An expert SEO assessment of a website leading to…
2.    A tailored technical document prepared and supported by one of our SEO Technicians.

How it works:

•    An expert SEO technician assesses the clients website (online) and notes the elements missing or conflicting with Google’s organic ranking rules.
•    An SEO Technical Audit document is then custom-built with the client’s changes.
•    The Audit document clearly outlines what is currently missing from the client’s website to make the site more compliant within Google’s rankings rules. A jargon free simple step by step guide.
•    The Audit document is sent to the client to be implemented by their Web/IT people with support from the SEO Technician.
•    Google re-indexes the newly improved web pages and search engine presence begins to increase.

Note:  The Audit will not guarantee that rankings and traffic will improve overnight. However, it is highly likely that most Websites will see good improvements after Google has re-indexed the changes completed from the Audit.  The main purpose of the Audit is to make a website compliant within Google’s ranking rules and, although most business will experience increases, this is keyword/market dependant.

Who needs one?

For many years we have performed an SEO Audit for every web project undertaken. Simply put, it is the best thing for the Website to clearly understand where it is at and what is required to rank keywords on Google. The improvements made will help performance and visibility on Google, Yahoo! and MSN/Bing, so for some businesses, it will provide a boost; for others, it will provide an SEO road map.

SME’s

For many businesses it can be a struggle trying to promote your business on both AdWords (Paid Search) and SEO (Organic Search). Therefore, the SEO audit is a perfect business boost. In many cases, an SEO audit is all you will need to develop presence on Google, Yahoo! and MSN/Bing and generate traffic from local and regional search terms.

Large Corporate

Larger business has many uses for SEO Audits. The main one is a clear SEO road map to clearly understanding the stages of development and knowing what to do and when. We have found so many businesses spending large sums of money on Websites that are not compliant within Google’s rankings rules and so the SEO audit is an insurance policy against such issues.

What will the Audit cover? Here’s the basics…

Although there are many ‘on-page’ factors currently governing Google’s organic ranking rules, unless you are within a highly competitive market (i.e. Cars, Finance, Insurance etc), the main key elements which are between 12-25 (site dependant) are enough for most local and regional businesses.

Further recommendations are offered if the SEO Technician finds anything on the site that is detrimental to Google ranking rules or if there are any industry specific suggestions.

Listed below are some of the specific key elements included within an SEO Audit:
•    Page Title – <Title> Tag.
•    Page Header – <H1> Tag.
•    Meta Description – <Meta> “Description”.
•    Meta Description – <Meta> “Keywords”.
•    Alt Attributes for Images {ALT}.
•    Building correct HTML Links – Anchor Text.
•    Building correct HTML Image links – Links Title.
•    SEO Text/Keyword Density.
•    Internal Linking.
•    Cleaning up CSS code.

Note: As every Website has a unique status such as setup, structure, indexing speeds, keyword relevance, value etc all SEO Audits are custom made to reflect the clients specific market and Website. Therefore the audit work required to comply with Google will change for each site.

The 10 main benefits of an SEO Audit

•    An improved Google profile for your business.
•    Improved rankings on Google, Yahoo! and MSN/Bing search engines covering 95% of UK search.
•    Improved traffic that is targeted to your business.
•    Improved downloads, conversions and other important customer action needs.
•    A quick method to make your Website more compliant on Google.
•    A quick method to identify areas of improvement for your Website.
•    Better understanding of “best practices” for ‘on-page’ Website optimisation (SEO).
•    Jargon free explanation of what is important to improve your Google presence.
•    Confidence that you have eliminated the obstacles preventing a complete trawl by Google.
•    Confidence that your Web pages are compliant within Google’s ranking rules.
